Two Strangers

It was raining down as they were walking
Sweeping across, approaching each other
Trying not to get wet, they caught each other’s eyes
Realizing they’d seen each other from yesterday’s class

She saw his tired eyes, from crying every moment
And caught a glimpse of his whimpering body
She felt his pain inside her heart
And the presence of a broken mind

He saw her swollen cheeks
And caught a glimpse of her withered body
He felt her pain inside his mind
And the presence of a broken heart

Unknowingly, they slowed down
Coming closer and closer, as the rain poured down
Unknowingly, they understood each other
And without ever saying a word to each other,
Slowly and slowly they kissed each other.
